SILMAK dedicates special attention to environment protection, in terms of the prevention of possible pollution from the technologic process in the factory. Due to this one can say that there is a high level of consciousness regarding this issue of all employees, and especially of the management. In that direction, considering the legal regulations in the Republic of Macedonia- Environment Law , Waste Law and Quality of the Ambient Air Law, our company is included in a string of activities that ultimately influence the environment improvement, not only in the factory but also in the region where it is situated. In that way we contribute to the maintenance of the nature in one of the most beautiful regions in the country. In that aspect the following should be highlighted:
• The production of ferro-chromium alloys is abandoned, due to the hazard from possible environment pollution
• A project is completed for dilution of the remainings of the chromium six plus and its realization is on going
• In cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning the project is being realized for the treatment of waste waters from the industrial waste area, as well as from the surroundings of the factory and the factory itself
• The former industrial waste area is being activated, on which everything that is result of the factory operations is stored and that can be element of environment pollution
• Financial investments have been made in the amount of 1 000 000 EUR for purchase of part of the filter facilities;
• We are working on preparations for the realization of the project for dedusting of the off-gasses, with production of electricity from the heat that is a result of the technological process; and
• The preparation of the Application for obtaining Integrated Pollution Control Licence type A , for the operation of the factory, with activities plan for its realization and financial investment. |
